Leverage Promotions to encourage return visits to your website

Just as you want customers to visit your tire and automotive service location frequently, you also want potential and present customers to visit your website. Displaying promotions on your website is a great way to encourage return visits. You will want to change your promotions regularly and add a few features to make it easy for your visitors to share your promotions with their friends.

  • Let your visitors know to “Keep checking back!” and include a bookmark to your site to make it easy for visitors to get back
  • Add permission based marketing such as “Click here to be notified when we update our specials” or “Click here for advance notice of deals”
  • Make it easy for visitors to share your specials. Add a “Tell your friends about this special” button
  • Leverage viral marketing by offering incentives such as ”Tell 2 friends and you will be entered into a drawing”

Making the Most of Your Tire Power Software – An Easy Search for the Hard to Find Customer

As Tire Power users, we all have done it.  We need to enter a customer transaction, only to not be able to find the customer’s name.  We think they are in there, but why can’t we find their name?  Is the name in the database misspelled, an extra space inserted, or does it have an extra letter which is making the search not work correctly?  This can be frustrating and a little embarrassing, especially if the customer is right in front of you.  Over the years I have heard and seen some pretty good tips to help you find that customer, such as using a phone number look up, or first name look up, but one of the most underused and powerful searches you can use to find an elusive customer in your database is the % sign lookup.

Don’t delay in fixing errors

Our Tire Power software has tremendous reporting capabilities and hopefully you are taking advantage of those features.  Remember, after running the reports and financial statements, it is very important to examine them for any discrepancies.  If you have any questions about how the numbers are calculated, or think the numbers don’t correlate with some of your other figures, give us a call. If errors were made during the day, week or month, it’s easier to fix them sooner rather than later.  The longer errors go without being addressed, the more potential to cause further and sometimes bigger problems. Use Tire Power Software to See the Big Picture

TCS Customer Named the 2009 Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award Winner by Tire Business

We are pleased to see one of our own TCS customers, Mr. Scott Beasley, owner of Duncan Tire Company in Dublin, GA, was awarded the prestigious 2009 Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award.  Presented by Tire Business, a long time tire industry publication owned by Crain Communications Inc., Mr. Beasley was recognized for his humanitarian service in the community.  In part, the article stated “He’s the role model that every man needs to be. From his family involvement to business to community, he’s the ideal role model”.   It has been our pleasure to work with Scott and Duncan Tire for a few years now, so no one here at TCS was surprised he won this award.  Congratulations Scott.  For the full article, follow the link below.

TCS Customer Interviewed for Modern Tire Dealer Article

I wanted to throw out a quick mention regarding an article in February’s edition of Modern Tire Dealer.  Roger Porter of Porter’s Tire Stores, a growing 4 store chain in east Tennessee, and one of our very own Tire Power users, was interviewed in an article regarding his views of the use of software in today’s modern tire dealership and what is the most important functionality provided by the software.  Here is some of what he had to say…. “With multiple stores, you need “the ability to track what goes on at each store,” says Porter. “Even from my home, I can log on and monitor exactly what’s going on.  It’s a system of checks and balances that begins with the point of sale.”  It is great to see one of our customers gain the recognition they deserve from the industry, and to get a chance for us here at TCS to see the positive impact our product has on someone’s business.  For more of Roger’s comments, and for the full article, follow this link̷ ...[more]

How strong are your passwords?

Just about everyone uses the Internet in some form or fashion.  Whether you are using online banking, paying bills, email, or social media sites like facebook and Twitter, an often overlooked security threat is password vulnerability. One main cause of Internet security breaches are weak passwords, so having a strong password for the sites you access is very important to protect your personal information from hackers.  Some tips in choosing a strong password are:

  • Avoid common words and phrases
  • Do  not use dates, numbers or names that could be easily tied to you
  • Use both upper and lower case letters along with numbers and symbols
